In Dialectical Materialism, the spiritual world is not separated from the material world and thus, ideas and matter are always in the same plane. Matters can only be tackled by a material force but an idea can be a material force if it captured the allegiance of the masses.
Now with this, I am supposing that in terms of Dialectical Materialism an idea even if it captured an individual cannot be counted as a material force, if 1.) It cannot bring change in a certain phenomenon 2.) It cannot cause an impact to society.
An idea must capture a wide united audience, and unite in a way that the effort that will given by the mass for the idea is collective in nature and not individualistic.
So is the concept of "ako mismo." be counted as a material force, if it gives a freeway for individualistic paths to be constructed? Can real change in terms of dialectical materialism be reached with this concept?

Marami nga ang naakit sa "ako mismo", na wari ba'y umaapoy ang puso ng bawat Pilipino para isulong ang pagbabago at pag-unlad. Minsan nga iyong sumikat at pinunan ang ilang espasyo sa peryodiko at oras sa ilang palatuntunan. Pero hindi ba nalaos na rin yun? Hindi ko ito maisali sa konsepto ng "material force" dahil sa di ko nakitang may nabago ito kahit pa siguro malaki ang naging epekto nito sa lipunan. Isipin natin, may nagawa nga ba ang "ako mismo" bukod sa pagpapalabas ng maraming maimpluwensyang tao na nag-eendorso nito, mga maaayang damit, sombrero, kwintas at kung anu-ano pang collectibles? Minsan na kasi akong nakatagpo ng taong hangad lang ay ang opisyal na damit ng "ako mismo".

Marx said that ideas can become a material force if you are able to convince others to believe in the idea.
ReplyDeleteThe "ako mismo" is a television show with a purpose. According to their site: "At a time of turmoil and hardships, we all search for heroes to save us… but we really need not look very far because there’s a hero in each of us, we just have to let him out, use our gifts to help the next person in need and open our hearts to see the heroism in others’ selfless deeds. Heroes do exist today, not with capes riding flashy cars, but ordinary people… just like you and me. This show aims to help us discover them, know them and the amazing things they do and by so doing inspire us to unleash the kindness we suppress in ourselves and start thinking of some good things we can do for others and our country."
This show is aimed to let others be aware of the things around them by allowing ordinary people to report things they see and think must be reported and exposed to the public. This show may in some way be a way of making ideas material forces. It shows the public some ideas and sometimes others may respond to what they see, but I am not saying that it is true for all.
The "ako mismo" may not inspire a mass movement, but it may inspire people, even just a few to change.
